Same town?

The pretty but little known town less than 2 hours from London where locals had to move inland so their houses didn't fall into sea - MyLondon

The residents of Winchelsea had to move further inland as coastal erosion threatened the original spot

England is full of fascinating history and legends, from King Arthur to Stonehenge and the Great London Beer Flood. But one town's takes the cake.

Winchelsea in East Sussex was once an important trading post and naval base. By the 13th century, it had more than 700 homes, two churches, and 50 taverns and inns according to the Telegraph.

But with sea levels rising and threatening the community, they all upped and moved inland. Today, that Winchelsea is still thriving while Old Winchelsea is covered by the dunes of Camber Sands....
