Did you watch the WWDC keynote? They explained how your privacy would still be protected and you'd be asked your permission for sharing anything when using ChatGPT.

One thing about Apple's AI, I think the big tech companies like Alphabet, Amazon, and Microsoft had a big financial reason to provide it in the cloud because they all large server farms that can process data they sell to clients.

Apple isn't in that business, so whatever AI they provide is for customers who buy their hardware.

As we know from history, Apple tends to take a wait-and-see attitude for new technology, and then improves on it –– like they did with the iPod and iPhone.
