The plutocrats have been increasing their power for the last 50 years, and a wise person would ask:" how did this happen"?

And the answer is not complicated. But first one needs to look at the history of the last 100 years to notice during all that time going back to Hoover, the GOP has fought for the rich.

That is a fact!

And the Republicans increased the wealth and power of the rich by outsmarting the Democrats at the ballot box, which gave them the political power to transfer wealth and power to the rich

Robert Reich estimated it has been about 50 trillion dollars! And they are responsible for the huge deficit, because of the tax cuts.

They started by fooling the people with tax cut propaganda which left the Democrats in a position where they had to try and sell raising taxes? That won't work, people are too dumb.

They called it supply side economics: i.e. give money to the rich and it will trickle down! Which is complete nonsense and does not work.

And what the Republicans did was mainly cut taxes on the rich, not everyone

So how did they get the power to control congress. The went to the south using the Lee Atwood Southern strategy of appealing to the racists! This is another well known fact.

And so the south, and rural areas, started voting solid Republican and the most terrible legislators who worked full time to feed the rich.

And the GOP won the votes by appealing to the "south's and rural" areas traditional values of god, guns and whatever.

So the trade off was the south got their racism, etc and the rich got their money and power!

The good news is the women and kids are on to them! At last.
