My disappointment is complete. I had hoped Kemp would be the able communicator that Dole is not. I had hoped he would have articulated the Dole mission (whatever that is). Instead we get weak attempts at humor, sweat beading on the upper lip, a gross inability to apply his message in meaningful terms, stumbling discourse, and (with Gore's help) the impression that his heart isn't really in the Dole campaign.

The only time he appeared prepared was during his closing statement. Gore must be quite pleased with his prospects for 2000. Who would have thought that the GOP would challenge the Dems to see which party could field the most disappointing/disliked candidates and still win? Gentlemen's agreement of some sort? They must certainly be convinced that we are stupid.
