Your view that ". . . prices will be held where they are as long as component prices are stable . . ." overlooks the high probability that competition from non-Apple devices may have a greater effect on price. The iPhone now faces competition from Android phones that use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 gen.3 processors, which are among the group of QCOM processors that can do AI, using the Microsoft special key as well. It's not clear that Apple has any phone so far that can meet the AI performance criteria. Also it's not clear that the recently announced Apple laptops and desktops will be able to meet these criteria. And if the new Apple devices, once they finally reach the market, are tested and found to be inferior to Snapdragon powered phones, laptops, and desktops, the related Apple device prices may drop accordingly.
