I would be stunned if Apple Silicon somehow became inferior to anything from Qualcomm because Apple controls the design of their processors as well as the OSes that run on them. They are tightly integrated and have a major advantage over other makers of computers and smartphones in that regard.

I'm not sure what "AI performance criteria" you're referring to, but Apple is not slacking in processor design and I don't see any way they'll fall measurably behind Qualcomm in that regard. In fact, I expect them to continue to be a leader.
