<<College is supposed to "open" your mind to "critical thinking".>> Complete balderdash. Critical thinking skills develop from the age of a toddler onwards. If you haven't picked any up by college time it's way too late. College typically knocks all the critical thinking skills and common sense out of one. It takes years to get it back and meld it with what was learned at college.
