...Jamaican bobsled team in the Winter Olympics... Those cats captured the imagination of the city in '88, along with Eddie The Eagle. Simpler times. I went to Calgary for the final weekend and caught the bobsled finals at COP (Paskapoo in the old days). Rather surreal, strong Chinook happening, they had rigged tarps to cover much of the course. They had a state of the art refrigeration system on the luge and bobsled tracks and pulled it off. DiCaprio was maybe a teenager tin'88 so he had yet to endure the rigors of a February Chinook. …it was scary. I’ve never experienced something so firsthand that was so dramatic. You see the fragility of nature and how easily things can be completely transformed with just a few degrees difference. It’s terrifying, and it’s what people are talking about all over the world. And it’s simply just going to get worse. That awkward moment when you have to explain a Chinook to Leo DiCaprio \| Calgary Herald Hockey in Florida? Follow the money. They'll have decent ice to play on tomorrow night.
