I suggest that folk listen to what Alexander Mercouris had to say about President Vladimir Putin's recent speech regarding Russia's recommendation about Negotiating an end to the conflict with Ukraine.

Alexander also refers to the events that lead up to the present situation in Ukraine which the vast majority of the "Western" World would know very little about if they obtained their "insights" from the likes of CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, BBC, SKY, BLOOMBERG, NYT, WP, GUARDIAN, etc, etc ........

Here's is what President Putin had to say. The "Collective West" needs to carefully consider the Fact that President Putin DOES NOT BLUFF ----->

"Today we are making another concrete, realistic peace proposal. If in Kiev and the Western capitals they do not reject it, as before, it is, after all, their business, their political and moral responsibility for the continuation of the bloodshed. It is obvious that the realities on the ground, on the combat separation line, will continue to change, and not in favor of the Kiev regime. And the conditions for the start of negotiations will be different," said the Russian president.
He also presented the essence of Russia's proposal, which, as he emphasized, is not a temporary truce or ceasefire, as for example the West wants, to stop losses in order to disarm the Kiev regime and prepare it for a new offensive.

"I will repeat, it is not about freezing the conflict, but about ending it definitively. I will say once again - as soon as Kiev agrees to a similar course of events that we are proposing today, agrees to the complete withdrawal of its troops from the DNR (Donetsk), LNR (Luhansk), Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, & that process actually begins, we are ready to start negotiations without delay. I will repeat, our principled position is the following - the neutral, non-bloc, non-nuclear status of Ukraine, its demilitarization and de-nazification, especially since these parameters were agreed to as a whole during the Istanbul negotiations in 2022," said Putin, specifying that then & in connection with demilitarization, everything was clear, everything was prescribed - the number of everything, tanks, everything was agreed upon," he said. (I’ve referred to this PEACE AGREEMENT in Turkey in March 2022 numerous times on SI)
"Without a doubt, the rights, freedom and interests of Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine should be fully ensured, new territorial realities recognized, the status of Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as subjects of the Russian Federation.

Furthermore, all those basic principled provisions should be confirmed in the form of fundamental international agreements. Naturally, this presupposes the lifting of all Western sanctions against Russia. I believe that Russia is proposing a variant that will allow the war in Ukraine to end realistically. That is, we are calling for the tragic page of history to be turned. And that even if it is difficult, gradually, step by step, relations of trust and good neighborliness between Russia and Ukraine, and in Europe as a whole, begin to be established," the Russian leader concluded.
Putin also said that the executive power in Ukraine has been usurped and is being held illegally, as was the case in 2014. "The presidential mandate of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expired, and with it his legitimacy, which cannot be restored by any means," he said and emphasized that the Supreme Labor Council of Ukraine is currently the only legitimate authority.

Speaking about the conference in Switzerland, Putin said that the dialogue will be reduced to simple demagogic talks aimed at blaming Russia. Without the participation of Russia and an open dialogue, it is impossible to resolve the Ukrainian conflict and agree on the overall security of Europe, Putin said.
When it comes to the US-Ukraine security agreement, Putin said that it was a "bluff" and that the document was not valid. He also said that it doesn't matter to Russia what kind of agreements Vladimir Zelensky signs, adding that there is a propagandistic component.
