re. hiatal hernias

I post these comments on this topic in the hopes they might help anyone struggling with this problem.

An endoscope last week found a small hiatal hernia and a thing called a Schatzki Ring at the GE junction just on top of the protruding portion of the stomach. So the doc put me back on famotidine.

It's in a mild state, which is good because apparently when they're severe they can close off the esophagus enough to prevent movement of food into the stomach. At that point it's an emergency.

Thing is I had forgotten to use the massage technique for a long time now. The success I had with getting the bulge back down where it belongs to the point I stopped having distress eating had reversed somewhat. I am hoping I can relieve the hernia completely again and go off the med.

But another thing, I realized the hiatus holds that bulge in the chest cavity with I'd guess is a moderate clamping action. That's why any method to get it back out takes time, maybe a couple of weeks by massage or the water technique
