The Beatles may have pined for the USSR, but they were not from there. The Soviet Union just didn't create the right atmosphere for Rock and Roll.

Things are changing these days. May have been better for the average American citizen to be a slave working for the Pharaoh in Ancient Egypt.

Looks like they had a better deal. No sales tax either.

Sure there was the compulsory pyramid building, but could easily be interpreted as free gym exercise.

What was there not to like?
