I've had that happen to the office I worked at when we we're robbed by a man I had to fire. The cops refused to go to his house and look for the computers he had stolen but they did cover the interior of the office with finger print power and caused thousands in damages just from that. 2 days later he broke into the Board of Realtors and ransacked it with a key. In that case also refused to go to his house and search, even though he had been the IT guy for the Board and had opened up 4 computers and stolen the hard drives leaving the Board with no files or back ups.
