I've disliked Adobe intensely since they were the first major company to move to a subscription model for consumer software. Many others have followed suit since, of course, emboldened by Adobe.

I just read today the FTC has filed a lawsuit against them for using unlawful subscription tricks like hiding early termination fees and making it difficult to cancel subscriptions.

My take is that any company putting out a superior and competitive product doesn't have to resort to such scummy, illicit behavior.
