There is quite a bit of competition developing in fluorescent scanners. I heard today of another new one today from General Scanning, a company that has not previously been in the BIO market. It apparently uses two inexpensive He-Ne lasers and has just been released at a list price of about $70,000. Fuji must also be strong competition, at least in Japan. Of course scanners are not the only product of MDYN and scanning, in general, is a growing market.
