When someone says a scientific idea is proven, it means they think it's really true or they have a lot of good reasons to believe it. But in science, we can't ever say something is absolutely, completely proven like in math. Science is always checking and learning new things, so ideas can change as we discover more.

In math, you can prove things because it follows strict rules, but science is about studying nature and figuring out how things work. Even though science doesn't prove things, it helps us learn more and more about the world around us every day.
