I respectfully disagree re: p/e.

Look, back when P. Lynch was on the rise the market was at 3000-4000. We are in a different market and so the same rules do not "blindly" apply. For example, P. Lynch says that he would NEVER buy a stock with a higher p/e than 10. Try finding a stock with a p/e below 10!!!
Your search will show that Coke, IBM, INTC, GE, etc (blue chips!) all have p/e's anywhere from 40-75 or more! Now our p/e is about 40, that puts us in a very reasonable place I think.

However, I do agree, if there is a sell-off we are in trouble. So is the rest of the market.
