ZDR,

I had planned to buy some CMG after the split, but I'm holding off now given what I've been reading about them skimping on portions lately while raising prices, and the anger it is causing among loyal customers.
I have seen more stuff about CMG because of the upcoming split as well and I am holding off too. In our area of Atlanta's suburbs, we have had several Chipotles open up. My wife and son tried the new one closest to our house right after they opened and the portions were smaller than what we had encountered in other Chipotles. They were also out of things like guacamole and they had just opened for the day. The thing that, I think, was the biggest turnoff was that the staff was not friendly or efficient. The reviews on this restaurant have remained awful in the year+ that the place has been open. Usually, when a new place opens, they have staff that come in and can run things nicely, at least for the open. But that didn't happen here.

Now CMG has grown quite a bit over the past couple of years. But if their growth is, even partly, related to new openings and these place fall flat because of these other issues, then I wonder how long CMG will continue to command a premium.
