Thank you for that "in the field" report of what is happening in your local area with Chipotle.

Those issues are distressing to hear, even if they're isolated. While I can't say staff and any Chipotle I've been too has seemed chipper or happy to be there, I find that true of most places using younger workers these days. None have ever been unfriendly, but they have been slow.

Sounds like CMG might be growing too fast and aren't being careful with it. I remember in the late 90's, Boston Market opened a bunch of restaurants at once in my state and they were quite popular. But it was apparently too much, too fast, and the franchisee who owned all of them ran into financial trouble and they all went under. They've never returned to anywhere in the Pacific Northwest

I think CMG would be smarter to keep the same portion sizes, be consistent with them between stories (see my previous post), and raise prices if they need to instead of skimping. Creating a "value menu" like MCD had to do after raising prices too much would also be a good idea for customers rebelling at higher pricing.
