I say small because it will take a big hit in a correction but it is my belief that over time the market always heads higher. Therefore people will have to take the short term pain that comes with market volatility. I don't want too much volatility to break their spirit, so I'll keep the positions much smaller.

SSO is a geared ETF that should only be held as a hedge, not a long term hold. Even if someone has the stomach to hold thru thick and thin they still won't come close to double the S&P. Long term the risk/reward is not worth it.

I'm sure you are aware of this but how do you present this to your clients? They are not recommended for a very good reason.
