I did not know that you were not talking about drinking water problems. It seemed to be that way in some of your words when you responded to my posts. Nevertheless, I am glad to know that we are more specific right now. I do not recall any post on this thread mentioned cooling tower water applications. I believe this is the first time. This is a good business area. I know there are some chemicals can do the job to 50,000 ppm TDS range according to some publications form the chemical suppliers(not from Calgon or Nalco or Betz). I will get to the point after I dig out my old files. According to what you said the HERC formulation seemed quite effective. This is great. Looks like they do not have a good marketing strategy yet.

Regarding the sulfate reducing bacteria damage the water pipe which is location specific. They should focus their efforts to that location for maximum benefit. This is the subject which I am not familiar with. I thank you for telling me this. I will check into it.
