The checks and balances are congress and the judiciary, as it always has been. A president can be removed by congress and a defendant released by the courts. I really don’t know why you are playing so dumb. Maybe it has to do with your refusal to admit you were wrong to ridicule the Trump legal team for their immunity appeal. Nobody has been more wrong about Trump and the law than you.
