Your thoughts seem to be just like mine. I did the same ( and maybe more) research on this company. It is real.
I called this guy Jeff Bruss at FSS. After many calls, I finally got to speak with him. He told me he can't help what shorters do to the stocks he is involved with and that they really do put pressure on them, much to his dismay, he confessed that it is extremely frustrating and upsetting. I asked him about his possible compensation (I was right to the point) and he informed me that while he almost always does get paid handsomely, to put coverage on a stock, he did NOT get paid on this deal, he explained to me that he did it simply because he loves the company and believes in it. . Nothing more nothing less. I asked him about this guy on the SI thread who seems to have mentioned his name in a negative way, this guy Miller, and he was quite professional about "Oh that guy?" followed by a" no comment" about him, but it seemed clear that there was much more to the story with that SI contributor, Miller is letting on, and that he has an unfairly biased opinion. (I think).
Moreover, check www.wbn.com on the initiated coverage of Identix, albeit a bigger company, but clearly, with $9+ @ 24M+ shares o/s, the valuation of EOSC with a more compelling management, product etc. is priced right, and is likely causing the competition concern.
