Yes Obama had served two terms and was done. He and the First Lady invited the President elect and future First Lady to the White House to demonstrate the peaceful transfer of power as was tradition. The tradition was lost on the President elect. Obama didn't pout and take secret papers home because his preferred candidate did not win. Trump misread this tradition in US history by saying that, in reference to Obama, "I think he likes me". It's all about him.

And of course Trump did not follow the same tradition when he lost to Biden. He took his toys and went home.......and classified docs as well.
