I don't follow Dell nor the PC group closely. With all the excitement after DELL's rpt last night, I took a look at my disorganized notes and have some questions. You sound like you have followed DELL for a while and is a Dell bull, may be you can help me with my questions.

IDC estimates that PC growth is in the mid to high teens range. CPQ said they are growing at a few times industry average. Now DELL said they are growing at about 4 times industry average. IBM and HWP seem to be doing OK with their PC business. GTW had a good qtr and appeared to have recovered from last yr's slump. Now this clearly doesn't add up. Either the PC growth rate is much higher than IDC predicted or someone is losing business somewhere. With the big boys all doing well, who could be losing business to balance this zero sum game? Also, DELL is just about "perfect" in all areas, what do you see as the potential for them to top, or just maintain, this level of performance?

Since I don't read this thread normally, (only clicked on last night to see reaction to the DELL news) the tone on this thread reminded me of the WDC and IOM threads during its days of glory, just before huge pullbacks. Hope same doesn't happen here.
