Holly! I like Escher. I goofed around in college with etchings, engravings, and woodcuts, fun media. The only thing I could never do was throw a friggin' pot on a potter's wheel. I gave up after wasting about 200 pounds of clay. I like most all artists; the only ones I don't like are the ones that try and make their art out to be something extremely "mystical" or "significant", and then act arrogant if I don't act impressed by their stupid psychotic idea. This is why I was the only one in the theater that was laughing at "Pulp Fiction", which I thought was brilliantly funny. I'm allowed this viewpoint IMHO because I have a MFA in 15th century painting techniques. (wow)
I found the music by accident while I was surfin' the net. The title of the tune is "Smoke", and I ain't tellin' the address because I don't want the dude to change it until I figure out how to save the file. There is a riff about half way through that is superb. The trick was to get it to go off automatically when you go to the profile. I tried to make my profile really funny; when you first hit it, it looks almost "normal", then it gets better (I hope) as you scroll down. BTW I took the "java alert" off, my wife pointed out that it was annoying. I got a couple of posts saying "I like it", but I got more saying "It's annoying" so it's gone. Right now I'm preparing a "home page" on Geocities, but I don't have enough time to really get into it. Maybe next month. There is a site on SI that I found that has a lot of info about how to spice up your profile; I wish everyone would make their profile fun to look at.

The little mouse on my profile was a real find; it was on the back page of an automobile repair shop site somewhere in Canada. I want to learn how to make my own animated gifs. That seems like it would be really really fun. I wish I had a rich aunt and didn't have to woik for a living... |
