Interesting snag off Yahoo:

Monday night on "The Learning Channel," I was watching a show on Air Force pilots and the research on "G-LOCK." (aka excessive G's causing black-outs)

Towards the end of the show they showed and talked about simulators that the US military is using.

In one of the pictures, I saw the Thrustmaster retail version of the F-16 FLCS and the TQS (Throttle Quadrant System) that the pilot was using. The computer screen and keyboard were not a PC!

I have heard rumors that the USAF and NASA were using Thrustmaster products, but did not realize that they are (or are also) using retail off the shelf products as well as the special custom type products.

BTW, I'm 100% sure that they were the real thing. I own both controllers listed above and the gold lettered "F16 FLCS" name was in the picture. I own the ruder control system aka RCS as well.

They were all the top of their line at the time. They are still wonderful! However, I may buy the newer Thrustmaster F-22 and sell my F-16 FLCS. Don't know yet. It's got a different feel as well as more programmable.

From a satisfied user,
David
