Tenchu's Thoughts: The End of the Brandon Gaslighting Machine, Part 2 - Will He Stumble?
Ask yourself this question, especially if you're still a Brandon supporter.
Whenever you see Brandon speak these days, what are you hoping for? What are your expectations?
Are you hoping to see him elucidate answers to valid questions like what's our plan for the war in Gaza and the war in Ukraine?
Maybe you're hoping to see him give intelligent answers to voter's concerns like the ever-rising cost of living, or the anti-Semitism that has seem to have taken over college campuses, or the border situation, or abortion (sorry, "reproductive rights"), or presidential immunity, or Project 2025.
Maybe you just want to hear him give reassuring words that he somehow "feels your pain," that he realizes that Wall Street's gain seems like Main Street's pain, and that during his second term he will focus on correcting that imbalance.
LOL, yeah right.
I already know what you're thinking. I already know what you're hoping for.
You're hoping that Brandon can get through his entire speech without messing up.
Because that is what this presidency has turned into.
It's turned into a circus, where we get to watch the main attraction try and take on the oh-so-immense challenge of reading a teleprompter.
Of course, there are side challenges.
Such as whether he can answer softball questions that have been pre-selected by his handlers and fed to pre-selected members of the audience.
Or whether he can find his way off of the podium without help.
Or how long it takes before dOcToR Jill rescues the poor guy with reassurances like "You did so well! I'm so proud of you!" that are normally reserved for nervous five-year-old children.
That's all you're thinking now. Every freakin' time Brandon shows up in public these days, that is what you are thinking.
Doesn't matter whether you've already made up your mind or not, because that's not the point.
The point is that this is what you have resigned yourself to. Hoping that the president of the United States, the leader of the free world, the most powerful man on Earth, can make it through another day without royally screwing up.
Do you think you can still win an election this way?
Do you think this is the way to preserve democracy against the man whom you fear will become a king and will dismantle democracy as we know it?
Do you think that, with so much at stake, you can put all of your hopes, all of your chips, upon a man who is quite arguably the victim of elder abuse?
Do you truly think that this invalid is the least risky choice among all the alternatives?
And finally, does "Anyone But Trump" have to be "No One But Brandon"?
Think about it. Or remain in denial.
