| | | My grandparents were immigrants and loved USA with a passion. My parents raised us G-d, Family, Country all the way. If I disrespected anyone, I got hit with the strap or my father would belt me. My father told me that if my country called me to serve and I refused, he would disown me. My grandparents were real immigrants. When they first came here, as teenagers, they did not speak a word of English. They stopped speaking their native language until they spoke English perfectly with no accent.
I have nothing but hatred for AOC and the Squid.
You remember what JFK said:
"Don't ask what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
If a friend or family member was poor, we took care of them. It was unthinkable to ask the Gov't for support.
When I was 19 years old and hitchhiked across the country for the first time during the summer, a friend of mine in Venice, CA, brought me to a place where I got food stamps, but did not need it. When I got home before going back to college, my mother slapped me across the face when I told her what I did getting food stamps. She told me never to do that again. That is for people who really need it. |
