Zeeve,, no one has made floating platform GTL or a mobile one,, although there is a talk of building one,,,,
RAther now days of engineering every thing is prefabricated at places like McDermott Yard, Hitachi Zosen , Hyundai , Mipo or Dae Woo, Okpo yard and site erected,, only French and Italians really build their own their stuff any more..
Remember ,,, its al prefabricated in pieces and site erected and vis a vis ..
As for the plants, for life of a well can be any where from 10 to 100 years,, however, the life of the plant it self is some where in the region of 30 years with replacement parts...
Also please note 80% of the wells that Texaco and others are targeting is land based..
