"I misspoke back in July of 2021 because I didn't fully understand how the vaccine works. I now understand that the vaccine was never meant to prevent infections 100% of the time. Instead it is meant to lower the chance of infection as well as drastically lower the chance of death or serious health issues if you do get infected again. "That's the thing about science, especially biology. It is never an exact science, but as we learn more, we can better understand how COVID spreads, what the risks are, and why getting vaccinated is still recommended by every major public health organization in the world."
