I've kept it off, but this box is ~8 years old and I've forgotten how I did it. Try Settings | Notifications & actions and turn off everything in sight. And maybe msconfig.exe. And look around the Computer learning thread. We're surely not the only SIers who like a noise and interruption free computer experience.
