There are some who believe 1997 was the 2000 anniversary of the Birth of Jesus Christ and we are now in the next millenium.

Yes, I also do believe that man (lower case m) has the power to avert/modify the gloom and doom scenario, but only thru a relationship with the Living God and thru His power. Man (lower case m) has always managed to screw anything up in his path.
