Who was dave witwicki?

SI is clearly not the investment frontier it once was, but the hoariest are still here. (phonetic pun intended)
SI is the first internet community and the groundwork is as true today as it was then.
SI can be pretty straightforward for the most part.
Here is a post I made in 1998 explaining how to get a new name on SI.
I am not sure that email still works anymore, but the rest of the advice might still work.
note - we see very few unarmored "dave witwickis" today but they were very common then.

In addition, please disregard this attempt at self aggrandizement at the expense of newcomers and Welcome to the Investment Frontier - SI. Please be very suspicious of everybody and remove any colored glasses before posting to regular threads. A suit of armor may be required on some threads and is not dispensed here on SI, you must bring your own or kill somebody and steal theirs, I am sorry, but that is how it works.
