Very true. I made the faulty assumption it was properly tested prior to release. Even then, I'd still do a staged rollout.

Your comments and the botched rollout reminds me of back in the day when I was working for the man, one of the company's mantras was "First time fix!" on in-bound phone support calls.

A colleague of mine sardonically retorted, "how 'bout we just build a better product and let's have 'No times fail!"; which still has me snickering when things like this debacle happens.
