I'm sure whomever had final say on the update push at CRWD has been shown the door. I believe it's really a management problem though and whatever QA systems they had in place at CRWD failed miserably, if they used any at all. Seems highly unlikely given how widespread it was, and still is.

There has been speculation it was not tested, since by CRWD's own admission today, it affected about 8.5 million computers worldwide. Many are still offline. That same statement said only that a "significant" number of those computers are back online. That's very unspecific! What does that mean, more than 50%? We don't know.

CRWD's current CEO, George Kurtz, was the CTO at McAfee in 2010 when a similar bad antivirus update crashed Windows XP machines across the globe, causing a similar reboot loop problem.
