Thanks for posting, my Aussie Cattle Dog / Rhodesian Ridgeback Cross is howling downstairs right now, her sister can't quite do it. We were in northern Manitoba a few years ago and I heard puppies barking, so I walked to the top of this hill and looked over and about 50 feet away three wolf puppies were playing, once they noticed me they yelped and ran back into their den. I remember on the farm what a momma cat could do to someone interfering with her kittens and quickly went my way. The older I get the less and less I understand the need for hunting, unless it is to survive.
