Pierre: Using simple stochastics to evaluate PXD's stock performance over the past several months produced a buy signal a couple of weeks ago. Incidentally, management is staffed with some of the shrewdest in the industry, excluding the fabled R. Rainwater, whose talent for growing the Bass fortune during much of the '80s, is widely respected. The primary reason for owning this company, outside of the remarkable fundamentals facing the oil and gas industry, is for that showing of exceptional managerial strength. It is my expectation that Rainwater, et.al., will continue to perform today as in the past; with alacrity to changing dynamics in the industry, and demonstrating an ability to capture most of the potential from assets strategically placed.
