As a single datum, you are correct. But it is part of an overall pattern. He always dives for the gutter.

And that you ignore. You concoct entire conspiracies, involving thousands or more of people all working in unison, based on a single datum with no other supporting evidence except other conspiracy theories you have concocted using a single datum. All impressively fleshed out with your patented dotz(R), but still boil down to that lonely datum.

Yet, when faced with many cases of negative behavior, you want to pick out the most innocuous one and dismissing all of them on the basis of that one being trivial.

Which can get weirdly(word!) convoluted and often awe inspiring in its complexity to get to that dismissal.
