Most financial stocks are outperforming the S&P 500 this month Jul. 30, 2024 1:08 PM ET A significant number of stocks within the financial sector (NYSEARCA: XLF) have outperformed the S&P 500 ( SP500). More than 90% of S&P 500 financial sector stocks have outperformed the S&P 500 ( SP500) over the last month, said Dean Christians, senior research analyst at SentimenTrader, in an X post. The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund ETF ( XLF) is up 5.54% in the last month, and up 16.25% year-to-date. The S&P 500 Index ( SP500) is down 1.07% this month, although up 13.32% year-to-date.
