" So is BTO a more attractive investment than ETW because of what it's invested in? Or is it covering its distribution better than ETW?"

Both, ETW is a very defensive fund that overwrites 95% of its portfolio. BTO is a financial fund that uses a little leverage and is in the financial sector, which I want to own. As of last Friday, BTO's nav is up 15.51% YTD compared to ETW which is up 6.85%. This is more a total return play.

BTO is another well-run fund if you don't mind buying and holding in the financial sector. John Hancock manages them as well as HTD. Check their nav since time of inception compared to ETW. BTO will frequently trade at a premium unlike ETW.

I still have a full position in ETW.

Edit: BTO did a 4 to1 stock split early but also did a reverse 1-4 split in DEC 2008.
