Here's another interesting story about pension funds' investment activities. I've often wondered how well regulated, informed and prudent these funds are and whether they were primed for some comet-and-the-dinosaur moment like we saw decades ago on occasion. It sure seems that the same variables that can lead to large losses at hedge funds when they make poor bets could also apply to pension funds when they start becoming stock pickers. barrons.com
