I know that the INX's exercisability is limited and euro-style based.
My sources also tell me that the IIX has the same feature. For more info, contact Amex by phone(800-the-amex) or website (www.amex.com).
This partly explains why trading volume and open interest are so low -
even lower for INX. I don't think investors get fair pricing for equity options period, index or not. The market makers will get
their 3/8 spread on a $3 contract...no matter what...but that's a topic of another thread...

Before figuring out an efficient way to weight these indices, i think
the exchange should figure out which companies should belong in there in the first place. That's not an easy thing to do. The internet is a value-added service business, not an industry like semiconductor.
AT&T is offering internet access soon... are they going to put it in
this index? MSFT could be a major internet player in a year, why isn't it in there?? Are the AOLs, Genies, and H&R block providing
internet service or getting killed by it???
