What you're reading, if you're not familiar with it, is a biology professor from Minnesota's blog, not a full tine political pundit. He's riffing off the press in the last couple days. He wasn't so much out to insult Shapiro as to make the point that Silver doesn't make a living off blowout races. As for Chait, for at least a decade I've suspected he was a repturd in disguise, dating from when the New Republic was a rag cheering on the w bush Iraq debacle.

But I think we can all agree that there was a nauseating amount of punditry about the VP choice at the expense of other maybe more significant news, and it's good that >90% of them got it wrong.
