Market Thoughts: 8/9/24 - What am I looking for today. I'm hoping for a relatively tight range and no wild swings as we end the week. I have no plans to add to any positions nor take any new positions. The shopping list remains as posted prior. AMD and MU remain my conviction picks but I'm waiting out the market a bit more after establishing initial positions in both. I think both represent good entries now. DELL remains intriguing. Still looking for additional legs of the LULU and ULTA positions but more legs of both are not planned soon as I want to see more consumer settling. For position trades, I'm looking to add one more leg of CLF and would love it if I could get it at $13 or below. Once I take the next position, I sit back and wait. The only event that would cause another purchase would be a material drop below $13. We are at the low end of the range now which is perfect. I'd love to see a close at +/- .25% on the Nasdaq and the S&P. Good time to sit on our hands and let the market come to us. It can be empowering to take action and simply do nothing - not forcing anything and understand that YOU are in control. We'll see what the rest of the day brings. Stay patient. Have a great weekend!
