I agree, somewhat. My use of CEFs is limited. As an income first retired investor, I use a few CEFs instead of ETFs to broaden sector exposure. I own BME in healthcare, along with JNJ and MDT. I own UTG in utilities to supplement my heavy utility exposure. AEP, DUK, NEE, SO, WEC. I own RFI for REIT exposure to supplement SCHD (no REITs) and O. And I own ADX instead of SPY. Been a CEF since, 1929. Feels like I have held since then, but sadly, no.
I may be exiting BME in favor of a couple of healthcare stocks. ABBV, ABT, PFE some others. Just can't seem to pull the trigger on those. I am torn between reducing the number of holdings and tinkering.
Waiting is my default posture. |
