The hate speech on many college campuses resulted in destruction of property and the hateful participants physically attacking and threatening students of Jewish origin and preventing them from going to classes. So, hate speech is rarely an isolated incident. And I don't agree that hate speech should be protected by the First amendment. Placing a swastika on a religious place of worship or in someone's home or place of business, is considered a hate crime in NYC.
