Chipotle (CMG) CEO Brian Niccol taking over as CEO and Chairman at Starbucks (SBUX).

Niccol was instrumental in righting the ship at CMG and increasing shareholder value. He pushed digital access for customers using the Chipotle app on smartphones –– one of the first restaurant CEOs to emphasize their importance. It was a great success and drove CMG sales substantially.

This is great news for SBUX and not so good for CMG, at least in the near term.

In premarket, CMG is currently down ~8% and SBUX is up ~13% on the news.
