Trudeau squandered $16.6-billion CDN in a speculation about EVs.

Solyndra only lost $528-million U.S.

Trudeau's two poker room bets cost Canadians $12-billion U.S.

1) A 1st in Canada, $1.6-billion EV battery separator plant to open in Port Colborne, Ont., in 2027. A small city nestled in southern Ontario's Niagara Region will be home to a new $1.6-billion electric vehicle battery plant.

2) Ottawa, Ontario announce $15-billion Honda EV deal to expand its Alliston, Ont., plant to manufacture electric vehicles and host a large EV battery plant. Both governments say the deal, unveiled Thursday by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Doug Ford, is the largest ever single investment in Canada's auto sector.

Solyndra received a $535 million U.S. Department of Energy loan guarantee, the first recipient of a loan guarantee under President Barack Obama's economic stimulus program, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The loan program took a $528 million loss from Solyndra.
