He will probably say "It wasn't a planned sale". Perhaps suggest he needed the money at the time to help cover the cost of some other ideas and projects he has, that have not yet panned out?

Regarding institutions controlling the the market for fair play, all that, in a very official way, went up in smoke on 911, 2001. A lot of paperwork got burnt.
