Possible counterfeit games. In todays Hartford Courant, pg C12, a chain called "Ocean State Job Lot" advertises "Electronic Fishing Game" with picture that looks similar to BF. Says "simlar to the one on TV, Game shakes when a bass strikes" "$9.99 compare to 19.99". It looks like the chain buys closeouts -therefore I cant say with certainty from the ad that the games are counterfeit but its worth looking into.
